Playa Remanso is located 8 km south of San Juan del Sur.
It takes between 10 – 15 minutes to drive to Playa Remanso from San Juan del Sur. The road is a bit bumpy and dusty, but a 4 x 4 vehicle is not required.
Many surf shops and hostels in town offer inexpensive shuttles to the beach. Round trip costs $5 USD per person.
There are two beach bar restaurants on Playa Remanso — Tacos Bar and Slady Brothers Surf Bar.

Slaudy Brothers has a few surf boards for rent.
Both Slaudy Brothers and Tacos Bar and Grill offer ample seating in and out of the shade. Menu items include typical beach bar fare like fish tacos, chicken nachos and tostones con queso.

Low Tide: Playa Remanso, San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua
Playa Remanso is also known as ‘El Sucio’, which in nautical terms means rocky shore or an ocean bottom where there are reefs.
With it’s gentle waves Playa Remanso is a great beginner surf beach.
